Lively animations act as guide to safety at work
Assignment
Prevent works to create a safer and better environment in the workplace. For several years, Prevent has been working with Appelberg to communicate about inclusive workplaces through the game Inkludo, highlight the dangers of noise and vibrations in the workplace, the risks of people working intensively with their hands and sexual harassment at work.
Prevent, together with Industriarbetsgivarna, Teknikföretagen, Unionen and the GS union, needed help to produce material dealing with the safety culture in industry. Above all, the aim was to explain how to change people’s behaviour and make them act in a safer manner at work. The project was a collaboration with Erik Matton at the Behavior Design Group, whose work focuses on how people’s behaviours can change mindsets to health and safety.
Solution
Appelberg produced three films that deal with why we should focus on people’s behaviour with regards to safety, how we can understand their behaviour and how we can work with it. In the films, Erik Matton talks about the important areas. We also added some playful animations to the films that would make it easier for the viewer to understand this serious subject.
“Appelberg provided a creativity that gave our films a playful feel, while not taking the focus away from the serious subject matter. Our collaboration has worked perfectly throughout the production.”
Fredrik Beskow, Prevent.
Results
Prevent was very satisfied with the result and has chosen to nominate the films for the Publishing Prize, an annual contest for advertisements, films, websites, newspapers, magazines, books and other printed matter in English or Swedish.
